We’re going on a big trip… several hours in the car… and it is a sort of a surprise for the kids so we haven’t told them much. We want to get an early start… so our plan is to just take the kids from their bed and put them in the car without doing anything at home in the morning to get out of the house quick.
Well… that part worked great.
We’re on the road for a bit and we’re telling the kids what we are doing and that we’re going to see the mountains and goto a zoo and all sorts of stuff. We bought little dollar store presents to give them throughout the trip as well, kinda like mini-distractions, and we told them all about this. So they are all happy and excited.
After we stop telling them all this and the kids questions have died down. After a little bit of silence. Connor asks thoughtfully, ‘Did you pack my clothes?’
He’s still in his pajamas and he didn’t know we spent all night packing everything and he just figured out that we are going to be gone for a couple of days… I guess he didn’t want to be in his pajama’s the entire time.
